My turn to make coffee.
Being proper rough, tough biker types, it was also my turn to do the laundry, which I did. I then decorated our hosts' back yard in an English style.
It looked lovely with my parachute pants draped hither and thither!
Kev conned Bruce into taking him to look at a q/d windscreen from Craig's List. On the way, we had a McD's from a drive thru. That was our breakfast, even tho' it was way past breakfast menu hours - Mushroom Swiss and an orange juice, I think. We got the windscreen for $120, which was a bargain compared to what it'd cost in Blighty, and headed back home. On the way, we called around the 'old' house, hitched up the trailer and loaded it with a variable height bench, a huge fan and another big thing that needed shifting from one house to the other.
We waited for Shirley to get back from babysitting, so we could all go to Hogs and Heifers BBQ. There was a huge pit on a trailer and a few young guys working their butts off, grilling a really good selection of meat. I really felt for them, as itwas already hot and humid, let alone working so close to that heat. Over by the bread and salad, was the cake that Tiffany had got on my behalf, which looked good and evidently tasted good, too.
It went quickly enough. The birthday pussy-boy didn't show, so I treated the afternoon as a party for Caitlin as hers, too. It was nice to see people enjoying it and when I went in to thank Tiffany, she was genuinely pleased I'd trusted her to get it - which was nice.
A bit blurry, I think the lens was steamed up lol.
I've been really impressed with how hard the kids work at this place, Not only the barmaids, who are incredibly attentive, but the way the BBQ guys cleared up afterwards was admirable I told them so, too, and they thanked me for the compliment. How pleasant we all are.
Even tho' we'd told Bruce and Shirley that tomorrow was a term used for any indeterminate point in the future, they seemed happier than we'd seen them since we arrived. The Limeys are going tomorrow! Even Surge had stopped growling at us.
We went home quite early, even refusing having shots bought for us, as Shirley had to be up at 5.30 for work, and we didn't want to be wrecked when we headed down to California tomorrow. I sat in the yard with a couple of beers and had a few fags, before turning in.
We'd had an amazing time in Vegas, thanks to Bruce and Shirley. It was an unforgettable experience. Huge thanks to them!
